The Western Cape will become home to the country’s first two Polystyrene Recycling Hubs when the pilot projects open their doors in Atlantis and in Paarl during the next few months. Both the communities of Atlantis and Paarl stand to benefit significantly from these polystyrene recycling hubs. Various jobs will be created for local residents who will need to collect polystyrene from their own towns as well as from surrounding areas. Once the material has arrived at the factories, it will need to be processed and recycled into lightweight concrete bricks and screeds that will be used to build houses for the local residents.
